THE HANDS-ON APPROACH
Now is the time to encourage finger foods. Your baby’s new-found skills with his thumb and forefinger mean that he’s able and really excited about the prospect of feeding himself bits of food. The more you let him take charge of feeding himself, the better it will be in the long run because he’ll be fuelled by the sense of joy and accomplishment that self-feeding brings. You’ll avoid the struggles for power and control that are so common in the second year by giving him control over this area.

Subhanallah if the above works well, your baby is doing well. What i like about this is that the Sunnah way of eating (ie with fingers as opposed to fork and knife) can be learned at a tender age…
